JOHNSTON CITY — Mady Wallace dominated at both ends of the floor to lead Benton past Hamilton County 40-18, earning the Rangerettes a date in the Johnston City girls 2A Regional championship game Friday night.
Wallace turned numerous steals into points as she scored 16 of Benton’s 20 first half points. The Rangerettes led by eight at halftime, then outscored Hamilton County 11-2 to put it away in the third quarter.
Wallace finished with 23 points, single handedly outscoring the Lady Foxes, who had several players not only battling the Rangerettes but the flu bug as well.
Benton advances to play Carterville Friday night at 7:00 for the regional championship.
