Tri-County ends Okawville’s run in the Supersectional

FARINA — The Okawville Lady Rockets bid to make it back to the State semifinals came up short as they fell 57-50 to Tri-County in the Farina Supersectional at South Central High School.

The Titans jumped out to a 13-8 lead after one quarter. After extending the lead to seven by halftime, Tri-County took control in the third, building a 15-point cushion.

The Lady Rockets mounted a rally, cutting it to 46-36 after three and then getting as close as four in the fourth quarter. The Titans (29-5) spent most of the fourth milking the clock and then made their free throws to earn a second straight trip to state.

Tri-County’s Tayler Barry led all scorers with 25 points. Freshmen Briley Rhodes and Megan Rennegarbe led the Lady Rockets’ attack. Rhodes finished with 14, while Rennegarbe netted ten.

Okawville finishes its season 18-14.
