BENTON — If you’ve driven by Benton High School during the past few months, you’ve seen plenty of work going on at the football field. That’s only part of the story as both Tabor Field and East Gym have undergone major renovations.

The grass at Tabor Field has been replaced with turf. There are also a couple of sets of new bleachers, new chair seats, a new concessions building with restrooms and a fresh paint job along with concrete walkways. Work continues on the project with an expanded parking lot where the team’s old practice field was located along with new fencing.

East Gym has a brand new look with the old wooden bleachers replaced by maroon bleachers. The gym has been painted and now is air conditioned.

The Rangers and Rangerettes will get their first chance to experience their renovated homes when the newly instituted Fall Contact days for offseason sports start next Monday.
