DU QUOIN — With limitations put in place by the IHSA due to the pandemic, the Southern Illinois River to River Conference decided to keep its entire cross country schedule within the conference. Each side held its preview meet Wednesday.

Pinckneyville’s Isaac Teel heads to the finish line on his way to winning the SIRR Mississippi Preview.

The Mississippi side ventured to the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds. Led by individual winner Isaac Teel, the Pinckneyville Panthers placed six in the top 12 to capture the team title. Anna-Jonesboro was second, and Nashville took third.
Anna-Jonesboro’s Brodie Denny heads to the finish to win the SIRR Mississippi Preview.

On the girls side, A-J sophomore Brodie Denny won her second race in as many starts. Du Quoin held down the next four spots and finished with five in the top 14 to take the team title. Pinckneyville was second, and Nashville was third.

The Ohio side ran at Riverside Park in Murphysboro. Benton swept both the boys and girls titles in dominant fashion. The Rangers finished 1-5 led by freshman Gavin Genisio, while the Rangerettes finished 2-6. Massac County’s Ansley Bailey dominated the girls individual race, winning by 1:46.
