Terriers and Wildcats split titles at Marion meet

MARION — The Carbondale Terriers swept the individual titles at the Marion Cross Country Meet Thursday, but Carbondale and Marion split the team titles in a meet that also included runners from Carmi-White County, Salem, and Vienna.

Carbondale senior Madeline Prideaux cruised to victory on the girls side, winning by 1:42 with a time of 20:33. Five Terriers finished in the top 11 to lead Carbondale to the team title.

Carbondale junior Alex Partlow edged Marion’s Dylon Nalley and Terrier teammate Tucker Poshard for the boys individual title. The host Wildcats put five in the top 10 and seven in the top 13 to win boys side.
