MARION — The Carterville/Herrin Lions boys soccer team improved to 5-1-1 with a 1-0 win at Marion Monday night.

Ty Morley’s penalty kick in the first half gave the Lions a 1-0 lead, and the defense led by freshman goal keeper Keegan Weber made it stand in the second half.

Both teams are back in action Tuesday. Carterville/Herrin will host Murphysboro, while Marion hits the road to take on Mt. Vernon.
