CARBONDALE — Ian Davis scored twice, and Nate Torres added a late penalty kick for insurance to lead Carbondale to a 3-1 win over Marion in the Terriers’ home finale.

The Wildcats won a 1-0 overtime thriller on Gavin Vickers’ goal when the two teams met 12 days earlier.

This one was scoreless until the 32nd minute when Davis headed in Torres’ corner kick. Two minutes later, Marion tallied the equalizer when Garrett Lange sent a loose ball into the net with a lefty boot.

Ezra Robinson’s steal and Khalil Oues pass set up Davis’ second goal. Davis’ shot hit off the far post and caromed into the net. Davis just missed out on a hat trick, when Dyson Roye stopped a quick rocket midway through the second half.

Torres provided the insurance goal when he scored on a penalty kick with 1:41 remaining.

Carbondale will wrap up the season Thursday at Anna-Jonesboro/Cobden. Marion will also finish its season Thursday with a trip to Mt. Carmel.
