HARRISBURG — The Harrisburg Bulldogs jumped on visiting Vienna early and often on the way to a 15-0, four inning regional championship win.

Javie Beal set the tone when he took Gabe Ross’ fourth pitch deep over the left centerfield wall for a leadoff home run. The Bulldogs wound up sending 12 men to the plate and scoring seven first inning runs, capped by a two-run single by Beal.

The onslaught continued in the second inning, as the Bulldogs put eight more runs on the board. The big blow was a three-run homer by Beal, who finished the day 3-3 with two home runs and six RBIs–all coming in the first two innings.

The regional championship is the Bulldogs’ 29th overall and 18th in the last 20 seasons played. Harrisburg is now 28-1 and will host ZRC in the sectional semifinals Wednesday at 4:30.
