CARBONDALE — The Harrisburg Bulldogs could not have asked for a better start to the SIU 2A Supersectional, jumping out to a 7-0 lead after an inning and a half, and chasing Freeburg’s ace in the process.

The Midgets’ bullpen came in and held down the Bulldogs’ attack long enough for the offense to start clicking, and it wound up clicking a lot.

Freeburg scored six runs in the second and exploded for nine more in the fourth on the way to a 15-8 win.

Freeburg advances to the 2A semifinal Friday against Normal U. High at 1:00 at Illinois State University. Harrisburg finishes a great season at 30-2.
