Du Quoin prepared for bounce back season

DU QUOIN — After struggling during the COVID spring football season, the Du Quoin Indians are determined to have a much better fall campaign.

The Indians had scheduling issues, then the injuries started piled up, not to mention a COVID shutdown. The end result was a 1-4 spring.

Head coach Derek Beard likes what he’s seen from his club during training camp. He says his lines are athletic, and there’s quality depth in the backfield–something that was missing in spring.

The Indians will open the season August 27 on the road against a longtime SIRR opponent–Chester. This will be the Yellow Jackets’ first season in the Cahokia Conference after leaving the closed Black Diamond Conference.
