This week’s winner of the Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois Player of the Week is Benton senior Reid Baumgarte. Baumgarte won another close vote this week, receiving 24 percent of the nearly 3000 votes cast.

Last Saturday in a 53-0 win over Pinckneyville, Baumgarte had 3 catches for 76 yards and 2 touchdowns on offense and 9 tackles plus 3 interceptions on defense, returning one of those interceptions an IHSA record-tying 109 yards for a touchdown.
