Congratulations to this week’s WMIX Sports/Josh Finley, Country Financial Ram of the Week! The Mt. Vernon Rams golf team recently qualified for the Sectional as a TEAM! The Rams finished third in the Mt. Vernon Regional at Green Hills with a 321, led by senior Blaze Greathouse’s 72! Senior Caden Tinsley shot 79, sophomore Jay Conner had an 82 with senior Zack Mattmiller shooting an 88. Greathouse, Tinsley, Conner, and Mattmiller all would’ve qualified for the Sectional as individuals. Freshmen Levi Ohley notched a 104 with sophomore Riley Tompkins adding a 107. The Rams advanced to the Effingham Sectional where they did not advance to state, but Greathouse advanced as an individual. Maybe more on that next week??? Hint. Hint. Congratulations, Rams Golf!
