Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois Player of the Week nominees

Voting is now open and will run through midnight Thursday for this week’s Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois Player of the Week. The poll is on the upper right-hand side of the page.

Here are your nominees for the week of October 25-30:

Devon Clemons, Murphysboro: The junior rushed 36 times for 218 yards and scored 4 touchdowns plus a 2-pt conversion in the Red Devils’ 43-22 first round playoff win over Macomb.

Gavin Genisio, Benton: The sophomore won the Wesclin 1A Cross Country Sectional individual championship with a time of 15:13, which set a new course record. Genisio now advances to the state meet this Saturday in Peoria.

Keegan Glover, Benton: The senior quarterback accounted for 5 touchdowns in the Rangers’ 42-0 first round playoff win over Piasa Southwestern. Glover was 7-8 passing for 133 yards and 2 TDs, rushed 7 times for 20 yards and 2 TDs, and returned a kickoff 75 yards for a TD.

Andrew Hellriegel, Carterville: The junior quarterback completed 21-25 passing for 318 yards and 4 touchdowns. He also rushed 9 times for 27 yards.

Hazel Konkel, Nashville: The senior totaled 32 kills and 3 blocks in the Hornettes’ 2 regional wins last week. Konkel tallied 19 kills against Columbia in the regional championship match.

Evan Noelle, Marion: The junior quarterback accounted for 5 touchdowns in the Wildcats’ 41-8 first round playoff win over Metamora.

Alex Partlow, Carbondale: The senior won the Decatur 1A Sectional by 1:02, finishing with a time of 14:57. Partlow now advances to the state meet this Saturday in Peoria.

Isaac Turner, Nashville: The senior had 9 receptions for 199 yards and 3 touchdowns in the Hornets’ 48-20 first round playoff win over Mendon Unity.

Isiah Watson, Johnston City: The junior rushed 19 times for 169 yards and 2 touchdowns in the Indians’ 43-12 first round playoff win over Lawrenceville. Watson also caught a pass for 16 yards.
