Central picks up quality road win at Centralia

CENTRALIA — The Breese Central Cougars picked up a quality non-conference road win, beating Centralia at Trout Arena 48-40.

The Cougars led 21-16 at the half and pushed that lead to 10 after three. Centralia could get no closer than seven points in the fourth quarter.

Both teams were playing without key contributors–the Cougars were missing leading scorer Brady Moore, while the Orphans were without starting guard Cruz Harlan.

Dalton Boruff picked up the scoring slack for Central, hitting five 3-pointers and finishing with 17 points. Sophomore Mason Shubert added 11.

Davin Tabor and Kobe Wilmoth each scored 19 for Centralia–Tabor scored 16 of his 19 in the fourth quarter. Wilmoth hit five 3-pointers on the night.

With the win, the Cougars improve to 14-3. The Orphans fall to 12-2.
