MARION — Marion’s Jerzy Bittle is the Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois Player of the Week for January 24-29.
The junior averaged 28 points per game over three games for the week, including a career high 40 in a win over Meridian.

Bittle has had a memorable few weeks–recently becoming the 10th Lady Wildcat in school history to reach 1000 career points. Following Tuesday’s win over Herrin, seven of the other nine to reach the milestone were on hand to present her the game ball.

While appreciative of the individual accolades, Bittle is enjoying her team’s success and ready to focus on what’s ahead–the postseason. The Lady Wildcats will open play in the Herrin Regional Tuesday night against Centralia.
