Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois Player of the Week nominees

Voting is now open and will run through noon Friday for this week’s Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois Player of the Week.

Here are the nominees:

Elise Coakley, Massac County: The junior won medalist honors at the SIRR Ohio conference tournament in a playoff after shooting a 79. She helped lead the Lady Patriots to the team title by 68 strokes.

Ahry Comer, Pope County: The junior won medalist honors by beating 145 runners at the Freeburg Invitational. Comer ran a personal best 17:33 for the win.

Opal Domethong, Centralia: The junior shot a 78 to win medalist honors at the South 7 Conference tournament. She also shot a 36 to win medalist honors at a 3-team, 9-hole meet.

Gavin Genisio, Benton: The junior won medalist honors by beating 170 runners at the Freeburg Invitational. Genisio ran a season best 14:55 for the win.

Isaac King, Carmi-White County: The senior rushed for 253 yards with a touchdown and 2-point conversion and caught a pass for 24 yards in the Bulldogs’ 38-12 win over Fairfield.

Parker Renken, Nashville: The junior sot a 74 to take home medalist honors at the SIRR Mississippi conference tournament. He also shot 38 to win medalist honors at a 4-team, 9-hole meet.

Ethan Rivera, Mt. Vernon: The senior rushed for rushed for 280 yards and scored 3 touchdowns in the Rams’ 32-20 win at Marion. Rivera also had 6 tackles on defense, including 1 for loss.

Hannah Rojas, Vienna: The freshman shot an 81 to win medalist honors at the Black Diamond Conference tournament.

Wyatt Upton, Benton: The senior rushed for 215 yards and scored 3 touchdowns to go with 4 receptions for 43 yards in the Rangers’ 45-20 win over West Frankfort. Upton also had 5 tackles on defense, including 3 for loss.

Jack Winters, Harrisburg: The senior scored 9 goals and added 3 assists leading the Bulldogs to a 3-0-1 record in 4 games. Winters scored 3 goals in a 5-2 win over Pinckneyville and then scored 4 goals in a 7-2 win over Mt. Vernon.
