Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois Player of the Week nominees

Voting is now open and will run through noon Friday for this week’s Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois Player of the Week.

Here are the nominees:

Reese Billingsley, Herrin: The senior set a pair of school records completing 16-16 passing for 336 yards and 4 touchdowns. Billingsley also ran for 60 yards and scored 2 more TDs in the Tigers’ 48-0 win over Massac County.

Devon Clemons, Murphysboro: The senior rushed for 217 yards and scored 3 touchdowns in the Red Devils’ 66-7 win over West Frankfort.

Hollan Everett, NCOE: The senior tallied 71 kills, 16 blocks, and 2 aces to help the Fighting Cardinals go 7-0 for the week, including winning the Marion Invitational. Everett was named tournament MVP.

Gavin Genisio, Benton: The junior finished second at the Peoria Invitational with a time of 14:37, which broke his coach Brent McLain’s 40-year old school record.

Dylon Nalley, Marion: The junior won the Peoria Invitational with a time of 14:03, helping lead the Wildcats to the team title as well. Nalley broke his own school record set earlier this year.

Madi Rathert, Trico: The senior tallied 66 assists and 8 aces to help the Lady Pioneers to a 6-0 record for the week, including winning the Sparta Tournament. Rathert was named to the All-Tournament Team at Sparta.

Bryce Smith, Carterville: The senior rushed for 201 yards to help the Lions remain unbeaten and clinch a playoff spot with a 28-7 win over Nashville.

Ian Sopczak, Vienna/Goreville: The senior caught 7 passes for 183 yards and scored 2 touchdowns in the Eagles’ 66-28 loss at Johnston City.

Luke Sork, Fairfield: The senior rushed for 186 yards and scored 2 touchdowns and also caught a pass for another 24 yards in the Mules’ 46-6 win over CZR.
