Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois Player of the Week nominees

Voting is now open and will run through midnight Friday for this week’s Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois Player of the Week.

Here are the nominees:
Emily Baggett, Pinckneyville: The junior was named MVP of the West Frankfort Mid-Winter Classic after averaging 15 points, 5 rebounds, 4 steals, and 3 assists over 4 games helping the Lady Panthers win the title.

Bennett Briles, Nashville: The senior was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Nashville Invitational after averaging 18 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 blocks over 3 games helping the Hornets win the title. Briles shot 46% from 3-pt range.

Evan Flath, Carterville: The sophomore won the Collinsville Boys Bowling Sectional and earned a trip to the State Tournament by knocking over 1466 pins in 6 games (244 avg) with a high game of 279. Earlier in the week, Flath won medalist honors at the Carterville Invitational where rolled a perfect 300 game, part of a 745 series.

Tyler Franklin, Cobden: The senior was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Z-R Mid-Winter Classic after averaging 35 points, 15 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 blocks over 4 games helping the Appleknockers to a second place finish.

Karsen Konkel, Pinckneyville: The junior was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Benton Invitational Tournament after averaging 20 points and 8 rebounds while shooting 69% from the field over 5 games helping the Panthers win the title.

Alayna Kraus, Okawville: The junior was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Highland Invitational after averaging 18 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2 steals over 4 games helping the Lady Rockets to a second place finish.

Parker Price, Eldorado: The senior was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Arrowhead Classic after averaging 17 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 steals over 4 games helping the Eagles win the title.

Macie Tosh, Goreville: The senior was named MVP of the Lady Eagle Winter Classic after averaging 13 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals over 3 games helping the Lady Blackcats to the title. Tosh then scored 23 points to go with 6 steals and 4 assists in a win over Hardin County.
