Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois Player of the Week nominees

Voting is now open and will run through midnight Saturday for this week’s Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois Player of the Week.

Here are the nominees:
Justin Durham, Wayne City: The senior averaged 23 points, 15 rebounds, and 3.5 assists in 2 regional wins, including 29 points and 22 rebounds in the Indians’ semifinal win over New Athens.

Caden Hawkins, Carterville: The senior averaged 19.5 points in 2 regional victories, including 25 points in the Lions’ semifinal win over Eldorado.

Alayna Kraus, Okawville: The junior averaged 23.5 points and 5 rebounds in 2 sectional victories, including 25 points in the Lady Rockets’ semifinal win over Jacksonville Routt.

Pearson Launius, Pinckneyville: The senior averaged 18.5 points in 2 regional victories, including 19 points in the Panthers’ championship win over Columbia.

Justice Malone, Mt. Vernon: The senior averaged 24 points in 2 sectional games, including 29 points in the Lady Rams’ semifinal win over East St. Louis.

Alivia Ming, Goreville: The junior went 3-1 including 3 pins to finish 2nd in the 140 pound weight class at the Girls State Wrestling Tournament in Bloomington.

Navontae Nesbit Jr, Mt. Vernon: The junior averaged 22.5 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2.5 steals in 2 regional wins, including 24 points, 7 rebounds, and 8 assists in the Rams’ championship win over Herrin.

Zoee Sadler, Anna-Jonesboro: The sophomore went 3-1 including a fall and a tech fall to finish 2nd in the 105 pound weight class at the Girls State Wrestling Tournament in Bloomington.
