Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois Player of the Week nominees

Voting is now open and will run through midnight Friday for this week’s Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois Player of the Week.

Here are the nominees:

Lilly Blagoue, Salem: The sophomore was 2-0 in the circle, allowing 1 run on 3 hits while striking out 25 in 11.1 innings. Blogoue pitched a perfect game against Roxana striking out 14. She was also 5-12 at the plate with a home run and 5 RBIs.

Rylee Davis, Carterville/Herrin: The senior scored 6 goals and added an assist to help the Lions go 3-0 for the week. Davis recorded a hat trick and added an assist in a win over Du Quoin.

Izzy Doerr, Murphysboro: The freshman scored 12 goals and added 2 assists to help the Red Devils go 3-0 for the week. Doerr scored 5 goals and added an assist in the win over Harrisburg.

Jack Ford, Harrisburg: The junior was 11-12 over 4 games including a pair of doubles. Ford had 5 RBIs for the week.

Ethan Golish, Harrisburg: The junior was 7-12 with 2 doubles, a triple and 2 home runs and 11 RBIs including a walk-off grand slam in a win over Du Quoin. Golish also was 1-0 on the mound, allowing a run on 2 hits while striking out 8 in 5 innings.

Makenzie Mowery, Johnston City: The freshman was 10-16 with 2 doubles, 5 RBIs, 2 stolen bases, and 9 runs scored to help the Lady Indians go 4-1 for the week.

Darrin Newton, Gallatin Co.: The senior was 4-9 with 3 home runs including a grand slam and 8 RBIs. Newton was 1-0 on the mound, allowing 1 run while striking out 8 in 6 innings of work.

Ethan Wielt, Mt. Vernon: The senior was 6-13 with 2 doubles, 2 RBIs and a run scored. Wielt was 1-0 on the mound, pitching a complete game, 3-hit shutout while striking out 7.
