Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois Player of the Week nominees

Voting is now open and will run through midnight Saturday for this week’s Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois Player of the Week.

Here are the nominees for the week of May 1-6:
Morgan Buchanan/Landon Wyatt, Vienna: The duo caught 5 fish weighing in at 15 pounds, 15 ounces to win the Lake of Egypt Bass Fishing Sectional and earn a trip to the State Tournament in Carlyle.

Carsyn Clark, Johnston City: The junior was 9-14 with 3 doubles, 5 RBIs, and 4 runs scored helping the Lady Indians go 4-0 for the week.

Eli Dyer, Carbondale: The senior was 6-11 at the plate with a double, 3 RBIs and 4 runs scored. On the mound, Dyer pitched a 2-hit, 6-inning shut out against Marion, striking out 10, helping the Terriers go 3-1 for the week.

Garret Franklin/Kade Estel, Trico: The duo caught 5 fish weighing 14 pounds, 14 ounces to win the Kinkaid Lake Bass Fishing Sectional and earn a trip to the State Tournament in Carlyle.

Cruz Harlan, Centralia: The junior was on base 9 times in 11 at bats going 4-6 with 5 walks. Harlan had a double, a triple, 4 RBIs, 4 runs scored, and 3 stolen bases helping the Orphans go 2-1 for the week.

Rileigh Harris, Pinckneyville: The junior was on base 9 times in 13 at bats going 5-9 with with 4 walks. Harris hit 2 home runs and had 5 RBIs helping the Panthers go 4-0 on the week.

Trey Reinburg, Nashville: The senior was 7-15 at the plate with a home run and a double, while on the mound he tossed a no-hitter, shutting out Herrin while striking out 9, helping the Hornets go 4-1 for the week.

Bowen Rollie/River Rynski, Woodlawn: The duo hauled in a bag of fish weighing 8 pounds, 15 ounces to win the Rend Lake Bass Fishing Sectional and earn a trip to the State Tournament in Carlyle.

Olivia Tipton, Waltonville/Sesser-Valier: The junior was 11-19 at the plate with 5 doubles, 11 RBIs, and 6 runs scored. In the circle, Tipton was 1-1, striking out 29 over 22 innings pitched helping the Lady Spartans go 4-1 for the week.
