Fox Fire Trap Team Shines at Rend Lake
The Lynn Braden State Farm / WMCL Fox of the Week honors the Fox Fire Trap Team for an outstanding showing at the Rend Lake Shooting Complex on Saturday, March 28.
Competing against strong competition, Fox Fire delivered across the board with both team and individual success.
The Varsity squad placed 2nd overall with an impressive score of 461, led by Jace Cross, Clayton Vaupel, Ryland Douglass, Ethynn Wilson, and Bradyn Kelly.
Meanwhile, the Junior Varsity squad brought home a 1st place finish, posting a meet-best 471 team score. That championship effort came from True Claytor, Jayke Friar, Boe Lee, Braylan Allen, and Dylan Toler, showcasing the program’s depth and future strength.
Individually, Fox Fire athletes dominated their classes:
- True Claytor captured 1st Place in Class B with a score of 98
- Bradyn Kelly earned 2nd Place in Class B with a 97
- Braylan Allen finished 3rd in Class C with a 95
- Dylan Toler took 2nd in Class D with a 93
Additional highlights included Fox Fire shooters achieving 25 straight targets, further emphasizing the team’s precision and consistency.
In doubles competition, Luke Cross claimed the Class D Championship with a score of 86, adding another top finish to an already impressive day.
From top-to-bottom, the Fox Fire Trap Team continues to prove itself as one of the area’s premier programs, combining elite performance, depth, and consistency—making them a deserving choice for this week’s honor.
