DU QUOIN — The Du Quoin Lady Indians opened play in their own Tip-Off Classic by downing Christopher 59-28 Monday night.
The Lady Indians seized control with a 10-0 run in the first quarter and never looked back. Du Quoin led 31-18 at the half and extended that lead to 27 after three.
Both teams are back in action Wednesday night. The Lady Bearcats will meet Murphysboro at 6:00. The Lady Indians will face the other opening night winner, Cairo/Egyptian, at 7:30.
