CARTERVILLE — The Carterville Lady Lions are off to a 4-0 start this season after winning the Salem Tournament. Two of the key members recently made their college choices officials, including one in another sport.

Jeniah Thompson signed to play basketball at SIU. Thompson averaged 15 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists last year when she was a 3A 2nd team all-state selection. She also a track and field standout, winning the discus in the River to River conference meet.

Abbey Crain signed to play softball at John A. Logan. Crain has a .410 career batting average and is a member of Carterville’s 100 hit club. She was a 3rd team IBCA all-state basketball selection last year as well.
