BENTON — It’s been a busy couple of days for Benton senior Brad Hammond.

After scoring 16 points against Hamilton County in the Rangers’ season-opening win at the Goreville Invitational Monday night, Hammond signed with John A. Logan Tuesday afternoon to continue his golf career in his college. Then he went out and scored 18 points Tuesday night to help Benton beat Johnston City.

Hammond was earned All-Conference, All-South, and All-State honors while helping lead the Rangers to a sixth place finish at the 2A State Golf championship back in October. Hammond finished tied for seventh individually.
