Marlee makes a difference, gets unexpected help

ANNA — Anna-Jonesboro sophomore Marlee Smith recently started a toy drive for the kids on the fourth floor at Cardinal Glennon Hospital.

Smith knows all too well, the fourth floor is for kids who have cancer.

Marlee has been battling t cell leukemia for nearly nine months. While her condition is improving, she knows some kids will be spending Christmas in the hospital.

Thursday night, Marlee received some unexpected help, as A-J’s opponent, the Marion Lady Wildcats, all brought gifts to add to the collection.

Marlee will be collecting donations until December 19th. She has a follow-up appointment the 20th, and plans to take the toys with her.
