Rangerettes hand Hamilton County its first loss


BENTON — The Benton Rangerettes used a big first half and then held on down the stretch to defeat previously unbeaten Hamilton County 47-43 Monday night.

Benton led 18-10 after one quarter and extended that lead to 30-20 by halftime. The lead was still eight at 35-27 heading to the fourth, but Hamilton County closed within two at 45-43 on Kaelee Karcher’s three-pointer with :28 left. Addisyn Miller hit a pair of free throws to finish off the scoring.

Miller led three Rangerettes in double figures with 18. Ensley Tedeschi added 12, while Mady Wallace chipped in 11.

Kolby Brake was the lone Lady Fox to reach double figures. She had 18.

Benton improves to 6-3 on the season. Hamilton County falls to 11-1.
