Woodlawn headed to Duster Thomas Hoops Classic title game

PINCKNEYVILLE — The Woodlawn Cardinals earned a spot in the championship game of the Duster Thomas Hoops Classic with a 67-59 win over Mt. Carmel.

Jake Hollenkamp hit six three-pointers to help take some pressure off McKendree signee Blake McKay who was being face guarded all over the floor. Both Hollenkamp and McKay finished with 20 points.

That helped offset another monster game from Mt. Carmel junior Kaleb Applebey who poured in a game high 36 to go along with 10 rebounds.

Woodlawn will face Pinckneyville in the title game Saturday night. Mt. Carmel will tangle with Carlyle for third place.
