JOHNSTON CITY — Du Quoin won the match up of Indians with host Johnston City 63-47 to close the opening night of the inaugural Arrowhead Classic.
Du Quoin led 9-7 after one quarter, then exploded for 27 second quarter points to take a 14-point lead into halftime. The visiting Indians cruised in the second half for the 16-point win.
Eldorado beat Christopher 58-47 in the tournament opener.
The Eagles will take on Anna-Jonesboro in the opener Tuesday night, followed by Du Quoin and Christopher. Johnston City will be off until Thursday night.
