MCLEANSBORO — The Murphysboro Red Devils and Nashville Hornets made the longest runs by area teams in the high school football playoffs, with each team making state championship appearances.
The Red Devils and Hornets were the last two area teams still standing in 2A basketball, but only one could move on as the teams met for the Hamilton County Sectional championship.
