Wildcats hard at work

MARION — The Marion Wildcats went 8-2 last season, grabbing a share of the South 7 championship and earning the school’s 15th straight playoff appearance.

Head coach Kerry Martin retired as a teacher at the end of last school year, but decided to return for his 19th as the ‘Cats leader. This summer has been unlike any other as teams in all sports deal with the unknown of what sports will look like this season due to COVID-19.

Martin points to the effort and attitude of his players during the summer workouts as being a huge positives during a time that would be easy to get discouraged. While there isn’t a ton of experience returning, Martin is really excited about the talent of his crew.

Now he just hopes they get a chance to show it on the field, whenever that may be.
