MARION — Marion junior Sarah Capel outlasted the heat and humidity and the field to capture medalist honors at the Lady Cat Golf Invitational Wednesday. Capel fired a 76 to edge Hamilton County’s Kylee Vaughan by one shot for the win.

Another balanced attack led Massac County to the team title by 19 strokes over Marion. Lily Conkle and McKinnley Korte each carded 80s to lead the Lady Patriots. Alexis Frazine made it three in the top six with an 87.
