WEST FRANKFORT — The storyline was a familiar one at the Black Diamond Conference girls golf tournament Thursday at Franklin County Country Club as Hamilton County senior Kylee Vaughan took home the medalist honors for the fourth straight year.

Vaughan, who recently was quarantined due to possible COVID exposure, wasn’t as sharp as she had hoped. The SIU commit still shot a 78 to post a six-shot victory.

There was something new when it came to the team champion. Host ZRC put four golfers in the top six to run away with the team title, beating Trico by 42 strokes. It was the Tornadoes’ first girls golf conference championship in school history.
