BENTON — With the season shortened by a pandemic and with no postseason, conference championships will be the pinnacle in high school basketball this year.

The Benton Rangerettes took over sole possession of first place in the SIRR Ohio with a 41-38 win Saturday at Rich Herrin Gym, thanks in large part to a monster day from senior Addisyn Miller.

Miller buried a school record 8 three-pointers on her way to a game high 26 points. It was also a milestone-making day for Miller. Her seventh made three pushed her over 1000 career points.

Sophie Bormann led the Lady Patriots with 10 points.

Benton improves to 7-0 in the conference. Massac County falls to 4-1. The two teams will meet again in Metropolis March 8.
