MT. VERNON — In a week of coaching milestone wins, Mt. Vernon Lady Rams head coach Jeff Lonnon added his name to the group with win number 300 Thursday night.

The Lady Rams rallied late scoring 13 of the game’s final 15 points to turn back rival Centralia 55-49.
The Annies used their own 13-2 run spanning the end of the third and into the fourth to build a 47-42 lead, setting up the home team heroics.

Claire Heinzman’s three-point play put the Lady Rams in front to stay. Heinzman led Mt. Vernon with 21.

Centralia’s Julyiah Rudder-Williams led all scorers with 24. Her teammate Kalei Edson added 17.

Last Friday, Harrisburg’s Randy Smithpeters won his 500th game. The next day, Cobden’s Wendell Wheeler won his 400th game. Then Tuesday night, Pinckneyville’s Bob Waggoner won his 500th game–just two days before Lonnon posted win number 300.
