Seniors lead Lady Cardinals past Harrisburg

HARRISBURG — The final week of the girls basketball season was quite enjoyable for the Woodlawn Lady Cardinals. A day after winning the Midland Trail Conference championship, the Lady Cardinals wrapped up their season with a 44-40 win at Harrisburg.

A pair of seniors led the way for Woodlawn. Macy Williams scored 13 points and Cheyenne Bailey added 11 as the Lady Cardinals built a 12-point fourth quarter lead, then had to hold on for the win. The Lady Bulldogs cut the deficit to four with :19 left, but could get no closer.

Harrisburg senior Lauryn Gribble led all scorers with 15 points. Gribble added 13 rebounds to post her third straight double-double.

Woodlawn finishes the season at 10-5. Harrisburg falls to 10-7. The Lady Bulldogs will wrap up their season Saturday afternoon by hosting Fairfield.
