FAIRFIELD — The final week of the volleyball season has produced some heavyweight matchups across the region. We found another Wednesday night in Fairfield as the Lady Mules welcomed NCOE in a matchup of two of the top six teams in our Volleyball Coaches’ Poll.

The Lady Mules had dropped two of those heavyweight matchups, falling at Centralia and at Woodlawn the previous two nights. Fairfield head volleyball coach Chet Snyder said he couldn’t remember the last time the Lady Mules had lost three straight. Snyder’s club avoided a third straight loss with a dominant performance in a 25-8, 25-11 win over NCOE on Senior Night in Fairfield.

The Lady Mules improve to 20-3. They will close out the season at Edwards County Friday night with a chance to clinch the Black Diamond–East title outright. NCOE finishes a great season at 17-2.
