State Bound: Harrisburg Post 167 wins 5th Division Championship

CENTRALIA — Harrisburg Post 167 earned a trip to the senior American Legion State Tournament in Danville by beating Centralia Post 446 5-4 in the 5th Division championship game.

Noah Boon homered, drove in three, and picked up the save. Luke Miller and Andrew Bittle had the other RBIs for Harrisburg, who jumped out to a 5-0 lead, then had to hold off a late Centralia rally.

Harrisburg starter Braden Unthank took a shutout into the sixth, but Post 446 scored four times to close within a run. Post 167 reliever Chance Moscardelli struck out the final two batters as Centralia left the bases loaded. James Zimmerman, Broderick Bauer (2), and Caleb Wright had the RBIs for Centralia.
