CHRISTOPHER — Christopher’s Amiah Hargrove is the Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois Player of the Week for November 15-20.

The sophomore earned MVP honors at the Lady Indians’ Tip-Off Classic in Du Quoin after averaging 25 points, 15 rebounds, and 3 steals per game to help lead the Lady Bearcats to a share of the championship. Hargrove is quick to point to those around her.

As a freshman, Hargrove averaged 23 points, 11 rebounds, 4 steals, and 3 blocks a game. She was an all state selection by both the IBCA and the AP–that’s both coaches and media.

Hargrove’s combination size, athleticism, and skill has had her on college radars for a while…she already has several offers including multiple from Big 10 schools. She admits all the attention can be overwhelming.

Hargrove knows the game plan by every team Christopher faces is to try to stop, or at least slow her down. To this point, that’s not happened very often. That doesn’t mean she’s satisfied with her game, especially with an eye to future.
