Mascoutah edges Marion to remain unbeaten

MARION — The Mascoutah Indians jumped out to an early lead and held off Marion 45-42 to win the final game of the Black Diamond Marion Wildcat Shootout and remain unbeaten on the season.

The Indians opened the game with a 10-2 lead and had the Wildcats playing catch-up almost the entire night. Marion did briefly take a 34-33 lead, but Mascoutah immediately regained the lead on Derek Plab’s corner three-pointer.

Plab was one of four Indians in double figures. Jack Seibert and Darien Singleton each had 11 points to lead the way for Mascoutah. Plab and Justin King had 10 points apiece.

Marion’s Evan Noelle led all scorers with 15 points. Rayzhaun Bardo added 12.
