Orphans clinch South 7 title outright

CAHOKIA — The Centralia Orphans are South Seven Conference champions outright after a 66-55 win at Cahokia Monday night, in a game rescheduled from Friday.

Junior forward Koby Wilmoth scored a career high 39 points in the win while hitting six 3-pointers. Centralia as a team made 11 threes in the game. Jeremy Dalton was the only other Orphan in double figures with 13 points.

Cahokia got 26 points from Jimeque Harvey, as he made six 3-pointers as well.

The Orphans never trailed in route to the win and a 23-3 record and a perfect 8-0 in the South 7. Centralia will host Marion Friday night and Taylorville Saturday, before wrapping up the regular season next Wednesday at Carbondale.
