WOODLAWN — The Woodlawn Cardinals have a new head boys basketball coach–21-year old Luke Cooper. The school board approved the hiring at Monday night’s meeting.

Cooper replaces Dawson Verhines, who resigned after two seasons as head coach. He served as Verhines’ assistant for both seasons.

Cooper, who is a graduate from Mt. Vernon Township High School, is currently completing his education degree.
