Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois Player of the Week nominees

Voting is now open and will run through noon Friday for this week’s Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois Player of the Week.

Here are the nominees:

Peyton Bittle, Carterville: The senior caught 13 passes for 181 yards and scored 2 touchdowns in the Lions’ 41-28 loss to Rochester in the 4A Quarterfinals.

Devon Clemons, Murphyboro: The senior posted 118 total yards (rushing and receiving) and scored a touchdown in the Red Devils’ 51-13 loss to Sacred Heart Griffin in the 4A Quarterfinals.

Hollan Everett, NCOE: The senior tallied 18 kils, 3 blocks and 2 aces in the Fighting Cardinals’ 2 matches at the 1A State Tournament. NCOE went 1-1 and finished third.

Connor Mowery, Johnston City: The senior was 3-3 passing for 59 yards, rushed 6 times for 27 yards and a touchdown, intercepted a pass in the end zone, and recovered a fumble in the red zone helping lead the Indians to a 42-32 win over Althoff in the 2A Quarterfinals.

Bryce Smith, Carterville: The senior rushed 26 times for 198 yards and scored 2 touchdowns in the Lions’ 41-28 loss to Rochester in the 4A Quarterfinals. Smith also had 2 receptions for 12 yards to finish with 210 total yards.
