Winemiller picks up milestone win as Rangers remain unbeaten

GOREVILLE — The Benton Rangers remained unbeaten in the Goreville Invitational and gave head coach Ron Winemiller a milestone win beating Hamilton County 54-35 Thursday night.

Winemiller’s 300th win came at the expense of his alma mater, and it moved his Rangers to 3-0 at the GIT.

Benton started out red hot from three-point range, jumping out to a 17-7 lead after one quarter and never looked back. Isaac Billington led a balanced Rangers’ attack with 15 points. Luke Melvin added 13 and Docker Tedeschi 12.

Trenton Pike led the Foxes with 11 points.

Benton will close the tournament with games against Hardin County and Goreville. Hamilton County’s final two tourney games will be against Anna-Jonesboro and Hardin County.
