Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois Player of the Week nominees

Voting is now open and will run through midnight Friday for this week’s Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois Player of the Week.

Here are the nominees:

Payton Allen, Fairfield: The senior went 7-0 and won the 285 pound weight class at the Lawrence County Tournament. Allen reached 100 wins for his career.

Bryce Conner, Carmi-White Co.: The senior was named MVP of the Du Quoin Tip-Off Classic after averaging 20 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2 steals over 4 games leading the Bulldogs to a 3-1 record and a second place finish.

Carly Foster, Gallatin Co.: The senior averaged 26.5 points in 2 games last week, including 43 in a win over Hardin County.

Luke Melvin, Benton: The junior was named MVP of the Goreville Invitational after averaging 14 points and 2 rebounds over 5 games to lead the Rangers to a 5-0 record and the championship. Melvin scored 21 in the title game win over Goreville.

Masin Presser, Pope Co.: The junior averaged 30 points and 11 rebounds in 4 games for the Pirates, including 42 in a win over Thompsonville.

Zoee Sadler, Anna-Jonesboro: The sophomore won the 106 pound weight class at the Lawrence County Tournament, becoming the first girl in the tournament’s 48-year history to win a title.

Kellen Scott, Pinckneyville: The senior was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Kaskaskian Classic after averaging 12 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists over 4 games leading the Panthers to a 4-0 record and the championship.

Kodie VanEyck, Woodlawn: The senior averaged 17 points and 7 rebounds over 3 games including a career high 24 points and 12 rebounds in a win over Flora.
