There were so many good things that happened in the world of Mt. Vernon Rams Athletics that we couldn’t settle on a Ram of the Week! So, we ventured outside of sports and into academia. This week’s WMIX Sports/Josh Finley Country Financial Rams of the Week are those MVTHS Seniors selected as Illinois State Scholars. The award is chosen by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission. Each year approximately 10% of all high school seniors earn this award deeming them “the best and the brightest” of Illinois high school seniors in the Class of 2023. The combination of exemplary SAT scores and high school achievement are factors that determine the students selected to receive this award.

Winners this year include (alphabetically): Ryan Bendersky, Alicia Benson, Samuel Buesking, Fischer Davis, Jude Erasmus, Charlie Houle, Colin McClure, Callie Prost, Jack Ryan, Dylan Storment, Cassandra White, Zada Wilkey, Elaina Wilson, and Jacqueline Wilson. Congratulations!!!
