Goreville holds off Harrisburg for LEWC championship

ELDORADO — The Goreville Lady Blackcats made it back to back championships at Eldorado’s Lady Eagle Winter Classic by holding off Harrisburg 58-52 in the title game.

Goreville junior Abby Compton scored eight of her team high 18 points during a two-minute span in the fourth quarter, including the tiebreaking basket with 3:20 to play. Kyndall Webb added 14 for the Lady Blackcats, while Tournament MVP Macie Tosh tallied 13.

The Lady Bulldogs, who trailed by as many as 15 in the first half, were led by freshman Jamisen Green, who scored a game high 21 points. Frankie Leigh Nicholes added 12.
