WOODLAWN — The Christ Our Rock Lutheran Silver Stallions showed why they are one of only a handful of unbeaten teams left in the state, rolling to the Midland Trail Conference Tournament championship with a 68-33 win over Cisne.

The Silver Stallions used patience and great ball movement on offense to get and knock down plenty of open looks against the Running Lions’ zone. On the flipside, Christ Our Rock’s size and trapping defense made it tough for Cisne to score.

CORL led 20-11 after one quarter and used an 11-2 run to close the half with a 40-20 lead. That run continued in the third as the Silver Stallions scored the first eight points of the quarter.

Ryan Wuebbles led the CORL attack with 18 points, including a pair of dunks late in the third quarter to put a couple of exclamation points on the win. Myles Pryor added 11, Ethan Peltes 10, and Parker Boehne nine. Boehne was named Tournament MVP.

Anden Atwood led the Running Lions with 14.

With the win, Christ Our Rock improves to 20-0. Cisne falls to 16-6.
