Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois Player of the Week nominees

Voting is now open and will run through midnight Friday for this week’s Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois Player of the Week.

Here are the nominees:
Roderic Gatewood Jr., Meridian: The senior average 39 points per game over 4 games, including 3 40+ games. Gatewood Jr. scored 46 in a win over Agape Christian to become the school’s all-time leading scorer.

Dayton Hoffman, Murphysboro: The senior went 3-0 including a pin and major decision to win the 170 pound weight class at the Carterville 1A Boys Wrestling Sectional.

Preston Long, NCOE: The senior averaged 23 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists over 3 games. Long surpassed 1000 career points in the game against Cisne.

Justice Malone, Mt. Vernon: The senior averaged 27 points in 2 games, including 31 win a win over Herrin. Malone helped the Lady Rams finish 10-0 in the South Seven, extending their conference winning streak to 28 games.

Drew Sadler, Anna-Jonesboro: The sophomore went 3-0 including 2 pins and a major decision to win the 106 pound weight class at the Carterville 1A Boys Wrestling Sectional.

Zoee Sadler, Anna-Jonesboro: The sophomore went 3-0 including 2 pins and a major decision to win the 105 pound weight class at the Peoria Richwoods Girls Wrestling Sectional.

Dillon White, Mt. Vernon: The sophomore went 3-0 with 3 pins in a total time of 5:21 to win the 120 pound weight class at the Highland 2A Boys Wrestling Sectional.
