Rams spoil Rangers’ home opener

BENTON — The Mt. Vernon Rams scored three runs in the top of the seventh then held on to win 6-3 at Benton in the Rangers’ home opener.

Gabe Luttinen’s 2-run double in the seventh broke a 3-3 tie. Eli Garrett added a sacrifice fly for a 6-3 lead.

The Rangers loaded the bases in the bottom of the seventh, but Kayden McGee struck out Grant Owens to end the game.
